ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The Wesley Ward-trained shipper No Nay Hudson had a contested pace to close behind and prevailed after a troubled break in Saturday’s Grade 2, $256,000 Nearctic at Woodbine.   The heavily favored Bring Theband Home and Western Whirl linked up in a speed duel in the five-furlong inner turf dash, a race that’s normally contested over six furlongs on the main course, which is being renovated. No Nay Hudson was squeezed between Bring Theband Home and Nobals at the break before trailing about six lengths off the lead heading into the turn. He went three-wide on the turn before rallying wider in the stretch to outfinish Nobals by a neck for the win. Western Whirl held on for third and was followed by The Strikin Viking, Light the Lamp, Its Time to Shine, and Bring Theband Home. :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! Winning jockey Pablo Morales said the plan wasn’t for No Nay Hudson to be so far back early in the race.   “The inside horse broke out really hard and I got pinched,” Morales said. “I had no choice but to take a little hold and [go to] plan B. I felt like they were flying, so I felt like I had a really good shot to win, so I pretty much just bided my time. After [the bumpy break], I had to steady a little bit and let the horse get his stride underneath him. I had tons of horse, and he just outfinished them.”  No Nay Hudson ($18.90) was back on Lasix, which he used in each of his last two victories. He completed the distance in 56.19 seconds over firm ground and earned $150,000 for the partnership of Andrew Farm and For the People Racing Stable. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
