No-contest declared at Fonner

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - Friday's fourth race at Fonner Park was declared a no-contest because of a gate malfunction.

The gate for post 1 opened before the others, followed by the gate for post 9, then the gate for post 2. Finally, the remainder opened with several horses stumbling or getting away badly in the four-furlong race for $5,000 claimers.

Dasha Viking won the race, with Lov'nue and Manimint finishing in a dead heat for second and Women Warrior and Ormontes Baby in a dead heat for fourth. All wagers were refunded on the race and the pick four paid $46 for 7-8-3-all.
