Nicole's Dream draws well in Hong Kong Sprint

Nicole's Dream may have lucked into an ideal stand-side draw for her run in Sunday's Hong Kong Sprint. Meanwhile, Designed for Luck drew ideally but Willow O Wisp less fortunately for their Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin on Sunday.

With 13 to start in the $1.2 million Sprint, the draw of 13 for Nicole's Dream means that she has drawn widest of all away from the inner rail for the straight five-furlong dash. That should not be a problem, however, as she will start right next to another speedster, Benbaun. Their side of the field will thus be where the bulk of the speed is, an all-important advantage in straight races. The favored Cape of Good Hope drew post 7.

Designed for Luck drew post 8 of 14 in the $1.8 Million Hong Kong Mile, which will be run around a single 180-degree turn on Sha Tin's right-handed turf course. A Rahy gelding, Designed for Luck should be able to find a spot to make use of his tracking speed.

Willow O Wisp, on the other hand, drew post 8 of 10 for the $2.3 million, two-turn 1 1/4-mile Hong Kong Cup. With a short run to the first turn, Willow O Wisp may have to be used by new rider Kieren Fallon to make the lead before reaching the bend. Defending Cup champ Alexander Goldrun has drawn the rail, from where she can take back in anticpation of her usual late run.
