Newmarket: Rockfel win earns Hello You berth in Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf
The Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar on Nov. 5 gained a potential international starter when Hello You recorded a mild upset in Friday’s Group 2 Rockfel Stakes at seven furlongs at Newmarket in England.
Hello You (who paid $15.40 in American pools) earned a fees-paid berth to the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf with a first career stakes win in the $122,900 Rockfel Stakes.
Hello You raced near the front throughout before taking the lead with a furlong remaining. Ridden by Rossa Ryan, Hello You finished 1 1/2 lengths in front of 8-1 Cachet, who is trained by George Boughey. Oscula (7-2) finished third for Boughey.
Majestic Glory, the 9-5 favorite, finished sixth of nine, beaten 6 3/4 lengths for trainer Andrew Balding. A representative of Balding’s stable told track stewards that Majestic Glory was unsuited to the good-to-firm turf and would have preferred a softer surface.

Hello You, a winner of 2 of 6 starts, was second of 15 in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot in June in her stakes debut. More recently, Hello You was fourth in the Group 3 Prestige Stakes at seven furlongs at Goodwood on Aug. 28.
Loughnane told the British press after the Rockfel that Hello You may start in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket on Oct. 8 in advance of a trip to California.
