New York shippers look tough in General George

The likely favorites in the 10-horse General George Stakes, carded as race 9 on Saturday at Laurel Park, are Great Stuff and Do Share, both of whom exit Aqueduct stakes victories.
Do Share rallied from off the pace in his last start to win the six-furlong Gravesend on Dec. 23 for trainer Linda Rice. Do Share has since missed two races – the Fire Plug and Toboggan – because of an equine herpesvirus quarantine in his Belmont Park barn.
Great Stuff, who is trained by David Jacobson, was a closing fourth, beaten three-quarters of a length, in the Gravesend. He has since finished a late-running third in the six-furlong Dave’s Friend at Laurel and scored impressively last time out in the Grade 3 Toboggan at seven furlongs.
Great Stuff and Do Share have posts 9 and 10, respectively, for the seven-furlong General George.
The John B. Campbell, a 1 1/8-mile race for 4-year-olds and up, has a field of six and will match Afleet Willy, an easy winner of the Native Dancer at Laurel on Jan. 2, against Zanotti, a winner of 4 of his last 5 starts, including the Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct.

The Maryland Racing Media is wide open. The 10-horse field includes Just Got Out and Sherini, the first- and third-place finishers in the Ladies at Aqueduct, and the first three finishers from the Nellie Morse at Laurel – In the Navy Now, Line of Best Fit, and Sky Flower.
Cross-entered Bishop’s Pond would also hit hard in this field.
The card includes a pair of 3-year-old stakes, the one-mile Miracle Wood and the seven-furlong Wide Country for fillies.
Expected Miracle Wood favorite Still Having Fun recently defeated Saturday rival Wentz by 4 1/2-lengths in the seven-furlong Frank Whiteley Jr. at Laurel. The margin would have been closer if Wentz had not ducked out sharply in midstretch.
Servis will be adding blinkers to Wentz’s equipment for the Miracle Wood, which attracted seven entrants.
He Hate Me finished a distant second to the talented World of Trouble while returning from a seven-month layoff in the Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. He should be sharper Saturday for trainer Horacio De Paz.

There is not much separating the seven fillies in the Wide Country.
The lineup includes Last True Love and Enchanted Ghost, the second- and third-place finishers in the Marshua at Laurel, and last-out optional-claiming winner Deep Red.
There were two entry-day supplements to the race. John Servis supplemented Shemakesmehappy, who is coming off a starter allowance win at Parx, and Chad Brown supplemented recent Aqueduct maiden winner Fools Gold.
