The New York Racing Association’s live-racing productions will be broadcast on SNY, a regional sports network, for 15 weekends this year, beginning on Saturday, according to NYRA. SNY, which is available in seven million homes in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, will broadcast both America’s Day at the Races and Saratoga Live throughout the summer and fall, NYRA said, including eight consecutive weekends during the upcoming Saratoga meet, which starts on July 15. SNY will also broadcast the shows during the fall Belmont Park meet. NYRA has a number of broadcast agreements with national and regional providers, most notably with Fox Sports, which has a contract with NYRA guaranteeing a minimum of 700 hours of live coverage a year from Belmont and Saratoga through 2030. Patrick McKenna, a spokesman for NYRA, said that the addition of SNY will not affect those other broadcast agreements, and the SNY coverage will, in essence, be a simulcast of the same shows on the other networks. :: Access morning workout reports straight from the tracks and get an edge with DRF Clocker Reports McKenna did say, however, that NYRA’s shows will no longer be broadcast on another New York-area regional network, MSG, which has carried the broadcasts for decades. “They were a tremendous partner to NYRA for more than three decades, and we appreciate their support of Thoroughbred racing during that time,” McKenna said.
