New York-based trio pulled from Breeders' Cup consideration

LEXINGTON, Ky. – New York-based runners Fingal’s Cave and Lachaise were not entered in the Breeders’ Cup, and the New York horse Dancing Buck did not ship to Kentucky after being relegated to the also-eligible list for the Turf Sprint.
Fingal’s Cave was going to make it into the body of the Filly and Mare Sprint from the preference list, but was found to have heat in a front leg on Monday after working at Belmont Park on Sunday, according to trainer David Donk. Fingal’s Cave, a New York-bred daughter of Carpe Diem, finished second in the Grade 2 Raven Run at Keeneland.
Lachaise, a 2-year-old New York-bred son of Oscar Performance, was not entered in the Juvenile Turf due to a temperature, trainer Jorge Abreu said. Lachaise won a maiden race at Saratoga and was third behind Major Dude and I’m Very Busy in the Grade 2 Pilgrim.
Abreu said he would have Lachaise examined at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington before deciding what to do with her next.
Dancing Buck, the Grade 3 Belmont Turf Sprint winner, was two deep on the also-eligible list. Michelle Nevin wrote in a text that Dancing Buck would be aimed at the Aqueduct Turf Sprint Championship on Nov. 25.
