New Vocations’ annual charity show set for July 6-7 in Ohio

The New Vocations annual Charity Horse Show, set for July 6-7 in Delaware, Ohio, will offer $6,550 in prize money for its Thoroughbred competitors.

The hunter-jumper and dressage show, which will take place at the Delaware County Fairgrounds, holds both Thoroughbred and open classes. The $6,550 for Thoroughbred classes came from multiple sponsorships, according to a New Vocations release issued Monday, as well as from The Jockey Club’s Thoroughbred Incentive Program.

The event’s title sponsor this year is the Indiana Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association. New Vocations also credited the Ohio HBPA, James and Anita Cauley, Homewrecker Racing, Eisaman Equine Services, and 100% Racing as key sponsors for the event, which New Vocations said raises over $40,000 annually. The show is in its tenth year this season.

“We are very grateful for the Indiana HBPA’s sponsorship, as well as the many other industry partners, owners, trainers, breeders, and volunteers that make this event possible, said Anna Ford, the New Vocations program director. “The show is a great way to spread awareness as spectators and exhibitors see firsthand the diverse attributes Thoroughbreds have to offer. It’s through events like this that we are able to raise both awareness and vital funds to help more racehorses excel in second careers.”
