New Ohio commissioner named

Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland appointed Charlie Luken chairman of the Ohio Racing Commission on Thursday. Luken replaces Norm Barron, whose term expired at the end of March.

Appointed to the commission by former Gov. Bob Taft in October 2005, Luken is to serve as chairman through March 31, 2009.

Luken twice served as the mayor of Cincinnati and was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.
