New national pick four April 16

Keeneland and Oaklawn Park announced Wednesday that they will team to offer a national pick four wager on the biggest day of their respective meets, April 16, when the Toyota Blue Grass Stakes will be run at Keeneland and the Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn.

Named the "Premier Pick 4," the $1-minimum wager will combine the Blue Grass and Commonwealth Breeders' Cup from Keeneland and the Arkansas Derby and Instant Racing BC from Oaklawn. All four races will be telecast live by ESPN on a 90-minute broadcast.

The bet effectively replaces the "Big 3 Pick 3," a longstanding wager that had combined the Blue Grass, Arkansas Derby, and Wood Memorial from Aqueduct. The Wood was moved back a week this year, to April 9, making the pick three obsolete.
