Nevin pleased with Carter efforts of Skyler's Scramjet and Honor Up

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Though she didn’t win the race, trainer Michelle Nevin still had reason to be thrilled with the second- and third-place performance of Skyler’s Scramjet and Honor Up in last Saturday’s Grade 1 Carter.
Skyler’s Scramjet and Honor Up alternated on the lead before both were overtaken by odds-on favorite World of Trouble, who would beat Sklyer’s Scramjet by a half-length. It was 1 1/4 lengths back to Honor Up in third.
“I was delighted with both horses,” Nevin said. “They both showed up, they both were on their belly trying all the way to the wire. The dynamics of the race were a bit weird. I didn’t expect Honor Up to be so close. Skyler, we always wanted to try to get him settled.”
Nevin said she prefers to keep Skyler’s Scramjet running shorter than seven furlongs and will look to run him in the $150,000 Runhappy going six furlongs on May 11 or the Grade 2, $250,000 True North at 6 1/2 furlongs on June 7, or he might run in both.
Nevin said she did not have anything selected yet for Honor Up.
