Nevin has plans for By the Moon, Paulassilverlining

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Conspicuous by her absence from Sunday’s $100,000 Cicada Stakes at Aqueduct is trainer Michelle Nevin, who has two graded-stakes-winning 3-year-old fillies in her barn who might have looked pretty tough in that spot.
Nevin said Friday that By the Moon, last year’s Grade 1 Frizette winner, is being pointed to the $100,000 Caesar’s Wish Stakes next Saturday at Laurel Park. Meanwhile, Nevin felt the Cicada would have been too quick back for Paulassilverlining, a multiple-stakes-winning sprinter who finished second in the Busher Stakes going long last out.
Paulassilverlining, the winner of the Grade 2 Matron at age 2 and the Ruthless Stakes this year, worked four furlongs in 49.40 seconds Friday at Belmont. Nevin said she has no set race for Paulassilverlining. The next sprint stakes for 3-year-old fillies on this circuit is the $100,000 Belle Harbor Stakes at 6 1/2 furlongs on April 26, closing day of Aqueduct’s spring meet.

After winning the Frizette, By the Moon ended her 2-year-old season with an eighth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. In her 3-year-old debut, she finished fifth, beaten 6 1/4 lengths, in the Forward Gal at Gulfstream on Jan. 24.
The Caesar’s Wish is at a one-turn mile, the same configuration as the Frizette and the Grade 1 Acorn, to be run at Belmont on June 6. The Caesar’s Wish was originally scheduled to be run this Saturday but was postponed a week by Maryland racing officials.
“Doesn’t make any difference,” Nevin said of the delay. “She’s been training in Florida so she gets to keep training along evenly. She’ll be up here in a couple of days.”
By the Moon breezed five furlongs in 1:01.95 on Thursday at Palm Meadows.
