Nebraska approves 52 dates for 2015

In a schedule that will mirror this year’s racing in the state, the Nebraska State Racing Commission on Thursday approved 52 race dates for 2015.

Fonner Park in Grand Island opens up the season with a 31-day session that will run Feb. 20 through May 2.

Omaha's Horsemen's Park follows with a three-day run on May 8-10.

Following a nearly three-month gap in the schedule during the summer, Columbus will offer its 16-day meet that will run Aug. 7 through Sept. 7.

Lincoln Race Course will run a single day over a temporary surface shortly before or after the Columbus meet. The date will be announced at a later time. Fair Play Park in Hastings will also offer a single day of Quarter Horse racing at a date yet to be determined.
