Nautilus, Ola Perfecta earn Breeders' Cup berths via South American 'Win and You're In'
Nautilus, a Brazilian-bred 4-year-old, and Ola Perfecta, a Peruvian-bred 6-year-old mare, won Group 1 races in South America on Sunday to earn automatic berths to Breeders’ Cup races at Keeneland on Nov. 5.
Nautilus earned a fees-paid berth to the BC Turf with a win in the Grande Premio Brasil at 1 1/2 miles on turf at Gavea Racecourse in Rio de Janeiro, the Drosselmeyer colt’s first Group 1. Nautilus (15-1) won the Grande Premio Brasil by a neck over Don Cambay.
Owned by Haras Valentin and Nicholas and Enrico Jarussi, Nautilus is trained by Nilson Lima and was ridden by Rudinick Viana. Last October, Nautilus was second in the Group 1 Grande Premio Jockey Club de Sao Paulo.

A winner of 5 of 17 starts, Nautilus is recognized as a 3-year-old in the Southern Hemisphere. He was foaled in August 2018.
Ola Perfecta won the Gran Premio Pamplona at Monterrico Racecourse in Peru, earning a berth to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.
Ola Perfecta finished a length in front of Raika in the race at 1 1/4 miles.
