Natalma or Catch a Glimpse possible for Tiz Breathtaking

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Tiz Breathtaking has emerged as a top 2-year-old filly for trainer Mike Doyle and owner Windhaven Farms, as she swept by the field to win the Shady Well Stakes on Aug. 4 by 1 3/4 lengths over Sav.
Tiz Breathtaking, who got a 68 Beyer Speed Figure for that win, placed second in the My Dear Stakes on July 7 and is now 2 for 3 in her career. Doyle said he is considering the Sept. 16 Grade 1, $250,000 Natalma Stakes over a mile on the turf for Tiz Breathtaking’s next start, but the filly could also run in the $100,000 Catch a Glimpse Stakes over six furlongs on the grass Aug. 25. Doyle also mentioned possibly running Tiz Breathtaking on the dirt.
“She came out of her race well,” he said.
Doyle said he could sense early-on that Tiz Breathtaking was a talented filly in her early training at Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables in Ocala, Fla., over the winter. She continued to progress at Woodbine in the spring.
Tiz Breathtaking left the auction ring at $210,000 at last September’s Keeneland yearling sale, but was bought back by owner-breeder William Graham of Windhaven Farms and sent to Doyle to train.
“I was glad he bought her back,” Doyle said. “I always liked her. She’s very, very nice.”
