Natalie Friendly, owner, dead

Steve Andersen|May 10, 2002

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Natalie Friendly, an owner of racehorses with her husband, Ed, since the late 1960's, died on Thursday after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was 74.

Natalie Friendly was a frequent visitor to Southern California racetracks, where the couple raced such stakes winners Golddiggers Dream, Gray Slewpy, Purely Cozzene and Vivid Angel.

Many of the couple's horses carried Natalie's name, including Another Natalie, Sweet Natalie and Lucky Natalie.

Natalie Friendly is survived by her husband, Ed, two brothers, two children, and three grandchildren.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, Radiology Dept. PO Box 2669, La Jolla, Calif., 92038 or the San Diego Hospice Corp.
