Mythical Mission bred to love Friday task

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – A winner sprinting in her only start, Mythical Mission will move out to a suitable distance in Friday’s Woodbine headliner, a 1 1/16-mile turf allowance with no conditions for juvenile fillies.
A Sam-Son Farm homebred trained by Malcolm Pierce, Mythical Mission is a full sister to Irish Mission, who was Canada’s champion 3-year-old filly in 2012. The long-winded Irish Mission won the Woodbine Oaks and Breeders’ Stakes at 3 before going on to capture three Grade 3 turf stakes in the United States.
Mythical Mission is out of Wonder Where Stakes winner Misty Mission, who also dropped the Grade 3-winning grass runner French Beret and the unbeaten allowance winner Smart Mission.
When the turf came up yielding Aug. 13, Mythical Mission was scratched from what was to have been her debut in the restricted Shady Well Stakes. She graduated on firm ground here Sept. 23, rallying wide from ninth to prevail by a head in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden special.
The feature is scheduled for lane 2 on the turf course. It goes as race 7 on an excellent nine-race card.
