Myra Solomon, longtime mutual clerk, dead at 72

Myra Solomon, who worked for decades as a mutuel clerk at Churchill Downs, Gulfstream Park, and elsewhere while traveling from track to track with her husband, Mickey, died Friday in Louisville, Ky., following a lengthy illness. She was 72.

A memorial service was held Tuesday. Mickey Solomon died in April 2006 after working for more than three decades as a clocker for Daily Racing Form and Equibase.
