My Silencer wins Frost King in debut
ETOBICOKE, Ontario - My Silencer made quite a splash at 16-1 when debuting in Wednesday’s $100,800 Frost King Stakes at Woodbine, winning comfortably under Luis Contreras.
My Silencer tracked the leader Hungary through fractions of 23.33 and 46.56 in the seven-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired 2-year-olds. My Silencer assumed command early in the stretch, and drew clear in the final furlong to win by 3 1/2 lengths over Dun Drum in 1:23.89.
Krachenwagen rallied for third and then galloped out on top. He was followed by Blessed Two, the favored Silencium, Seguimi, Sandretti, Bourbon Stritta, Captain Handsome, and Hungary.
“He was so professional,” said Contreras, who was winning the Frost King for the second time. “It was like he ran before. He was just perfect.”
A gelded son of leading Ontario sire Silent Name, My Silencer earned $60,000 for Heste Sport Inc. and trainer Bill Tharrenos.
