My Secret Star prevails

My Secret Star ($7.20) rallied from just off the pace, then outgunned Favorite Rookie through the closing sixteenth of the $10,825 Bachman Stakes for 3-year-olds to post his first career stakes victory Sunday at Fonner Park.

My Secret Star, trained by Milton Gaede and ridden by Beth Butler, covered the half mile in 46.80 seconds over a fast track to defeat Favorite Rookie by three-quarters of a length. It was another 4 3/4 lengths back to favored The Bunster in third.

The win was My Secret Star's second straight at the meet as he improved his career mark to 3-4-2 from 12 starts.
