My Secret Star one to beat

My Secret Star, winner of the half-mile Bachman Stakes earlier this year, returns as the likely favorite in Saturday's $15,000 Baxter Stakes for 3-year-olds going six furlongs at Fonner Park.

My Secret Star got his initial stakes victory in the March 4 Bachman after an entry-level allowance score at Fonner on opening weekend. He was a dull sixth in a second-level allowance last out on March 18 but should be ready for an improved effort here. Beth Butler has the ride for trainer Milton Gaede.

The main challenge should come from Heso, who rallied from just off the pace for an entry- level allowance win here March 10. Trained by Larry Donlin, Heso will have Dennis Collins aboard.
