My Master Plan tries two turns in Trapeze

The undefeated My Master Plan will make her two-turn debut Sunday at Remington Park in the $100,000 Trapeze. She is part of a strong crop of 2-year-olds from the barn of trainer Donnie Von Hemel, who later on the card will send out Suddenbreakingnews in the $250,000 Springboard Mile.
Von Hemel, who will be based at Oaklawn Park after Remington closes Sunday, said he has enjoyed seeing the stable’s young prospects get off to a fast start this year at 2.
“It’s been a lot of fun,” he said. “Hopefully some of them are good enough to go on and do some big things. Time will tell. It should be a fun 2016.”
My Master Plan is part of a 10-horse field for the Trapeze, a one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies which drew the stakes-placed Family Tree from trainer Wayne Catalano and local stakes winners Go No Go and Another Bond Girl. The Trapeze is one of four undercard stakes supporting the Springboard Mile.

KEY CONTENDERS
My Master Plan (Last 3 Beyers: 64-69-60)
She has won her three starts by a combined margin of 16 lengths. My Master Plan is stretching out to two turns off a win in the $50,000 E.L. Gaylord at 6 1/2 furlongs Oct. 23 at Remington.
“She acts like a filly that can stretch out, has a nice stride on her,” said Von Hemel. “I feel good about two turns.”
My Master Plan is a daughter of Oratory and the Vice Regent mare One O Seven.
“She’s a good-sized filly, and she’s about doing her job,” said Von Hemel. “She wants to go out and train.”
Luis Quinonez has the mount from post 6 for owner Joyce D. McGough.
Family Tree (Last 3 Beyers: 79-66-57)
She owns the field’s best career Beyer Speed Figure with a 79 for her third-place finish in the $84,000 Rags to Riches at a mile Nov. 1 at Churchill Downs.
Family Tree was making her first start on dirt in the Rags to Riches after having won her maiden on turf at Kentucky Downs and running fifth in the Grade 3 Jessamine at Keeneland.
