My Master Plan drops into statebred company

Mary Rampellini|Apr 08, 2016

Multiple stakes winner My Master Plan will move into Texas-bred company for the first time Sunday in the $50,000 Wayne Hanks Memorial at Lone Star Park near Dallas. She is part of a six-horse field that includes restricted stakes winners Everything Bling, Infectious, and Too Much Prada.

The Wayne Hanks, a 6 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares, is the second stakes of the Lone Star meet, which started Thursday night. The track’s first race of the season was the $50,000 Premiere, which Supermason won by 7 3/4 lengths. The card Sunday will have a first post of 2:05 p.m. Central.

KEY CONTENDERS

My Master Plan, by Oratory

Last 3 Beyers: 75-62-79

◗ Owned by Joyce McGough , she won all four of her starts last year at 2, including the $50,000 E.L. Gaylord Memorial in October and the $100,000 Trapeze in December. Both stakes were at Remington Park.

◗ My Master Plan is now based at Oaklawn and in her most recent start ran third in a first-level allowance there March 25.

◗ The filly stretches out a half-furlong for the Hanks.

“She won a stakes at Remington going 6 1/2,” trainer Donnie Von Hemel said.

◗ My Master Plan will be facing older rivals Sunday, but Von Hemel likes the opportunity to run with statebreds.

“I think if she runs to her [abilities] she’s very capable in that spot,” he said.

◗ My Master Plan will break from post 5 under Luis Quinonez.

“She’s always been forwardly placed,” Von Hemel said. “She always gets out and gets a good spot.”

Everything Bling, by Too Much Bling

Last 3 Beyers: 53-79-78

◗ She won the $50,000 Yellow Rose for fillies and mares bred in Texas in January at Sam Houston. Breeder and owner Hall’s Family Trust and trainer Danele Durham also won the $50,000 Bara Lass with Too Much Prada on that card.

◗ David Cabrera has the mount on Everything Bling, who drew post 3.
