My Boy Jack set for one work at Churchill

LEXINGTON, Ky. – My Boy Jack will remain stabled at Keeneland until the coming weekend as trainer Keith Desormeaux begins to finalize his Kentucky Derby plans for the Lexington Stakes winner.
My Boy Jack, up in the final strides Saturday to defeat Telekinesis in the Grade 3 Lexington at Keeneland, will give Desormeaux a Derby starter for the third straight year, following Exaggerator (second in 2016) and Sonneteer (16th in 2017).

Assistant trainer Julie Clark said My Boy Jack emerged from the Lexington in good shape and likely will be vanned Saturday to Louisville and subsequently will have one serious workout over the Churchill Downs surface leading into the May 5 Derby.
My Boy Jack, who already has traveled extensively this spring out of his Southern California base for owners Don’t Tell My Wife Stables and Monomoy Stables, earned 20 Derby qualifying points to give him a total of 52, easily enough to make the 20-horse cutoff.
Telekinesis, game in defeat in just his third career start, is an Ontario-bred and thus a prime candidate to be pointed to the Queen’s Plate, trainer Mark Casse said.
