My Bling upsets Dance to My Song in My Dandy

My Bling upset stablemate Dance to My Song and won his maiden in the $65,000 My Dandy Division of the Texas Stallion Stakes on Wednesday night at Retama Park.
Cowgirls Like Us won the $65,000 Darby’s Daughter division on the same card, a year after her full sister, Howboutthiscowgirl, won the race.
Both stakes for 2-year-olds were restricted to the offspring of eligible stallions. Each race was at six furlongs.
My Bling ($8.80) broke last and rode the rail past Dance to My Song in the stretch after that one dueled with E Rated through fractions of 21.99 seconds for the opening quarter and 45 seconds for a half-mile. My Bling was a 2 3/4-length winner over his stablemate while covering the distance on a fast track in 1:10.41.
Ernesto Valdez-Jimenez was aboard My Bling for trainer George Bryant.
My Bling debuted last month and was second by a nose in a maiden special weight at Lone Star Park. He is a son of Too Much Bling and races for HDT Allied Management.
Cowgirls Like Us ($7.80) outdueled 3-5 favorite Silver Moon Rising for a two and a quarter length win over that one in the Darby’s Daughter. The two went at it through fractions of 21.75 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.71 for the half-mile before Cowgirls Like Us went on to win in 1:10.58.

Cowgirls Like Us is a daughter of My Golden Song who races for her breeder, Douglas Scharbauer.
