Ms Meshak comes off big race for turf sprint
HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A field of eight turf-sprint specialists is set to contest Wednesday’s $52,000 allowance feature if the race goes as scheduled at five furlongs on the turf. It will be decided under second-level optional-claiming conditions with the speedy Ms Meshak the likely favorite coming off a second-place finish behind the multiple graded stakes winner Blamed going 6 1/2 furlongs over the main track on Feb. 8.
Ms Meshak, who won a similar turf sprint here nearly a year ago, could face her sternest test from the speedy Jakarta, who makes her first start since transferring to trainer Mike Maker’s barn earlier this winter. The ultra-consistent Kitten’s Covergirl, who has hit the board in her last three starts, all at this same level, also figures to receive plenty of backing.
The remainder of the field is Goodbye Brockley, Dancing Doll, Just Ain’t Right, Blazen Betsy, and Starship Nala. So Cunning was entered for main track only.
