Ms Bad Behavior makes China Doll first stakes win

ARCADIA, Calif. - Ms Bad Behavior won the first stakes of her career in Saturday’s $81,470 China Doll for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita, benefiting from a perfect trip to win as an odds-on favorite.
Ridden by Kent Desormeaux, Ms Bad Behavior ($3.80) ran a mile on turf in 1:35.37 and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 80. Desormeaux had Ms Bad Behavoir in a stalking position behind pacesetter Slick Trick through an early pace of 22.76 seconds for the opening quarter-mile and 45.79 for a half-mile. Slick Trick led by as many as five lengths.
Ms Bad Behavior took the lead in early stretch and quickly drew away to win by 2 1/4 lengths over 16-1 Treasuring in a field of 11. Lexington Grace, a 5-1 chance, finished third.
Ms Bad Behavior, by Blame, has won 3 of 7 starts and earned $152,640.
Owned by the partnership of Sayjay Racing, Greg Hall, and Brooke Hubbard, Ms Bad Behavior is trained by Richard Baltas.
After winning a maiden race on dirt here last October and finishing fourth in the Desi Arnaz Stakes at Del Mar last November, Ms Bad Behavior has run on turf this year, winning an allowance race with a $75,000 claiming option and finishing second in the Sweet Life Stakes on the hillside turf course on Feb. 11.
Ms Bad Behavior is likely to start in the Grade 3 Providencia Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/8 miles on turf April 7.
