Mr. Wireless points to Indiana Derby

Mr. Wireless will see more stakes action this summer following his runner-up finish to Warrant in the $300,000 Texas Derby on May 31 at Lone Star Park.
Mr. Wireless was second by three-quarters of a length in what was his stakes debut. He earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 88.
“I thought he ran great,” trainer Bret Calhoun said. “I was very happy with him. We’ll point him toward the Indiana Derby.”
The Grade 3, $300,000 race is July 7 at Indiana Grand.
Mr. Wireless earned a chance at the Texas Derby after winning both of his two-turn starts, a maiden special weight and a first-level allowance at Oaklawn.
“I thought his two races at Oaklawn were very good,” Calhoun said. “I thought numbers-wise he belonged with that group [in the Texas Derby]. It was time to take a shot.”
Mr. Wireless is a son of Dialed In who races for Jon Lapczenski and JIL Stable.
