Mr. Jordan's late surge gives him Big Drama victory

Mr. Jordan darted to a 1 3/4-length win over Kroy in the $100,000 Big Drama Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.
It was another five lengths back to Hy Riverside in third.
Three Rules, a Grade 3 winner who is nearing $1 million in earnings, finished fifth in what was his first start since December.
The Big Drama was a seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up.
Mr. Jordan ($11.40) sat just off the pace set by Kroy, who took the field through fractions of 23.02 seconds for the opening quarter, 45.47 for the half-mile and 1:09.91 for six furlongs. Mr. Jordan came into the stretch with Kroy, pushed past the leader in the later stages, and went on to cover the distance on a fast track in 1:23.17.
Mr. Jordan was given a 95 Beyer Speed Figure.
Edgard Zayas was aboard the winner for trainer Eddie Plesa Jr.
Mr. Jordan earned $60,760 for the win, which was the ninth of his career from 29 starts. He has now earned $738,560. Mr. Jordan, who overall has won six stakes races, is a son of Kantharos. He races for David Melin, Leon Ellman and Laurie Plesa.
