Mr. Jagermeister earns career-best Beyer in Tampa win

Mr. Jagermeister earned a 100 Beyer Speed Figure, a career best, in a seven-length romp Sunday at Tampa when finishing a six-furlong allowance in a quick 1:08.95, a clocking just .28 seconds off the track record. The easy triumph under David Cardoso took the 7-year-old horse past the $700,000 earnings mark.
Mr. Jagermeister, one of the most accomplished Minnesota-breds of recent times, is co-owned by his trainer, Valorie Lund, in partnership with his breeder, Kristin Boice. From 37 starts, the son of Atta Boy Roy now has 13 wins, including seven in statebred stakes.

This is the first Tampa meet for Lund, who began her training career in 1985 in the Pacific Northwest. For many years, she had moved from her summer Canterbury Park base to Turf Paradise before giving Oaklawn Park a try the last few years.
