Mountaineer track report

Trainer Jay Bernardini began the current meet at Mountaineer by going 1 for 21, but his stock began to heat up with a combined three victories on Sunday and Monday nights.

Bernardini saddled Dad Says Yes ($15.80), a 4-year-old filly making her first start since December, to a four-length victory in a $5,000 claiming sprint in Sunday's ninth race.

Monday night, Bernardini scored with Persian Princess ($5), making her second start off a layoff, and Backseat Romance ($4), making her first start off a claim.

Bernardini is now 4 for 26 coming into this weekend's racing.

* Trainer Justin Nixon registered three victories for Stronach Stables recently.

Feisty Fox ($19.60), making his first start since November, scored going a mile for a $5,000 claiming price on Saturday night.

Two other runners coming off long layoffs, Outer Zone ($8.20) and Lucky Tom ($12.20) won decisively for Nixon on Monday's card. Outer Zone cruised by 10 1/4 lengths in a $5,000 race, and Lucky Tom took a class drop to $30,000 and scored by 2 3/4 lengths.

* Beau Watch ($6.80), a stakes winner on turf in Kentucky last fall, raced for the first time since October on Sunday and won a $47,800 allowance race by 7 1/2 lengths going a mile on the main track.
