Mountaineer track report

Scott Spieth, riding at Mountaineer Race Track during the winter months while his home base of Thistledown is closed, enjoyed a big night in the snow last Saturday night.

After finishing out of the money with his first mount, Spieth won with his next five horses. The 5-for-6 performance enabled Spieth to move into first place in the jockey standings with eight wins in 17 mounts.

Spieth scored on Wire It Up Baby ($10.20) in the fourth, Mike the Tiger ($35.40) in the fifth, Royal City ($13.20) in the sixth, Honor Class ($20.80) in the eighth, and Glittering Success ($4.20) in the ninth.

A $2 win parlay on Spieth's last five mounts would have returned $26,023.
