Motion weighs options for Miss Temple City

Trainer Graham Motion left Miss Temple City in Southern California following her fifth-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Mile while he weighs options for her next start.
Motion mentioned that Miss Temple City was invited to the Hong Kong Mile on Dec. 11 – the same race to which Tepin was invited. While Motion said he is considering running Miss Temple City in that race, he is also considering the Matriarch on Dec. 4 at Del Mar.
“I left her in California for that reason for the time being in case we decide to go that route,” Motion said Thursday. “I want to weigh out the competition.”
Motion reiterated that Miss Temple City, who defeated males twice in Grade 1 races at Keeneland, would race in 2017. He said another trip to Royal Ascot could be on the agenda. Miss Temple City raced at the Ascot meet in 2015 and 2016.
“I think we would like to go to England again – that would definitely be in the cards,” Motion said.
