Moscow Flyer retired

Dan Illman|Mar 22, 2006

DRF.com has learned that multiple Group 1 winning hurdler Moscow Flyer has retired at the age of 12 after a fifth-place finish in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham on March 15.

The gelded son of Moscow Society-Meelick Lady, by Duky was winless in his first four career races over the flat before beginning a sterling jump career with three consecutive victories. Between April 27, 2001 and April 8, 2005, Moscow Flyer won all twenty races that he finished (either fell or unseated his rider in five other runs during that time frame). Multiple champion Moscow Flyer won thirteen Group 1 hurdle events, and earned over $1.9 Million for trainer Jessica Harrington and owner Brian Kearney.
