More Than Ready tops by triple-digit Beyers

More Than Ready scored his biggest victory in the Grade 1 King’s Bishop Stakes in 2000 at Saratoga. Two decades after his exploits on the track, the 23-year-old stallion hasn’t slowed down. Neither have his progeny.
More Than Ready, who stands at WinStar Farm, sired the most individual runners to record triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in 2019. According to DRF’s Beyer Sire Performance Standings, he led that list with six horses, outpacing Speightstown and Tapit with five each.
More Than Ready’s top Beyer in 2019 was earned by two-time Eclipse Award champion sprinter Roy H, who posted a 109 with a four-length victory in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes Stakes in January. That proved to be the only start of the year for Roy H, but More Than Ready still had top-quality runners waiting in the wings.
Uni emerged from a long layoff to earn triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures in three Grade 1 races in 2019. After earning a 104 while finishing third behind Got Stormy’s course record-setting performance against males in the Fourstardave at Saratoga, Uni posted a 105 setting her own course record, winning the First Lady at Keeneland. She improved to a 106 while winning the Breeders’ Cup Mile over Got Stormy at Santa Anita.
More Than Ready had another standout turf female in 2019 as Rushing Fall won the Grade 1 Just a Game at Belmont with a 103 Beyer, then earned a 105 finishing second to champion Sistercharlie in the Grade 1 Diana Stakes at Saratoga.
