The 3-year-old filly Moonlit Song, facing older West Virginia-bred females for the first time, cruised to her fourth straight victory in Saturday night’s $50,900 Fancy Buckles Stakes at Charles Town. With regular rider Christian Hiraldo aboard, Moonlit Song ($3.40) reeled off fractions of 21.78 and 45.07 seconds en route to winning the 4 1/2-furlong race in 51.44 seconds. Nay’s Back, the runner-up in this same stakes last year, was second-best again, 2 1/4 lengths clear of Jacky’s Notion, who rallied seven-wide from far back after exchanging bumps with Shehasit Too coming out of the gate to get third. A homebred daughter of Fiber Sonde trained by Tim Grams for his Grams Racing Stable, Moonlit Song is now 5 for 7 lifetime with earnings of $109,110.
