Monticello: Zero Tolerance runs victory streak to five straight

Zero Tolerance negotiated some early interference and a sloppy racetrack to win the lone $108,300 New York Sire Stakes division for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway. This was her fifth consecutive win.
Starting from post two and driven by David Miller, Zero Tolerance was bothered on the first turn when pole starter St Somewhere (Matt Kakaley) jumped it off and went wide. That left Ladybeluckytonite (Jim Devaux) on a loose lead at the 29 1/5 opening quarter, but Zero Tolerance closed the gap down by the time Ladybeluckytonite reached the 58 4/5 half-mile mark.
With So Awesome (Jim Morrill Jr.) coming from first-over off the third turn, Miller vacated the pocket with Zero Tolerance heading to the 1:28 1/5 three-quarters, and she stayed on the rim around the final turn as Ladybeluckytonite clung to the lead. Zero Tolerance took over for good off the last bend, and she would go on to defeat So Awesome by a length and a half in a 1:58 mile. Ladybeluckytonite held third.
Joe Holloway trains Zero Tolerance, a daughter of Heston Blue Chip, for owners Val D'Or Farms and Ted Gewertz. She has six wins and a second from seven starts, and she has now earned $144,191. Zero Tolerance, who was bred by Winbak Farm, sold for $30,000 at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale and is out of the Artiscape mare Feelinglikeastar (2:02 3/5, $5,180), a full sister to Rainbow Blue (1:49 2/5, $1,428,934). Zero Tolerance was the 1-2 favorite and paid $3.00 to win.
