Monticello: Primacy Station tops foes in New York Sire Stakes

Greg Reinhart|Jul 27, 2026

Primacy Station posted a track record 1:53 4/5 mile in winning the single $108,300 New York Sire Stakes event for 2-year-old male pacers that occurred on Monday afternoon at Monticello Raceway.

Driven by Matt Kakaley, Primacy Station shot through from the pole position to take the lead going to the 28 1/5 quarter, then yielded to sit behind Rose Run Cowboy (Yannick Gingras), as that one pulled to the outside from third and took control on the second turn. Rose Run Cowboy would reach the half in 57 seconds and the three-quarters in 1:25 2/5, but after Marie's Jet (Jason Bartlett) began to fade from first-over on the last turn, Kakaley had room to tip Primacy Station to the outside. Once he had clear sailing, Primacy Station zipped by Rose Run Cowboy and on to a 1 1/4 length victory over that foe, with Marie's Jet third.

Travis Alexander trains Primacy Station, an American Ideal colt bred by Spring Station Bloodstock, for owners Alexander Racing Stable LLC., C M T Farms, Evm Racing LLC. and James Scarpias. Primacy Station has a summary of 3-0-1 from four starts, has earned $77,374 and paid $8.06 to win as the third choice.
