Greg Reinhart|Aug 24, 2026

The New York Sire Stakes circuit made its last stop of the year at Monticello Raceway on Monday, and Read The Room and Chapter Geo J won the pair of divisions that took place for 3-year-old male trotters.

Chapter Geo J (Jason Bartlett) lowered the track record for a sophomore colt trotter to 1:55 1/5 in the second $58,000 split. Highway Six (Jeff Gregory) led early, but Chapter Geo J advanced to take the top spot on the way to the 28 1/5 quarter. From there, Chapter Geo J reached the half in 58 1/5 and the three-quarters in 1:27 2/5 before he closed in 27 4/5 to win by 2 1/4 lengths. Seven Grand (Ake Svanstedt) was second from first-over and Highway Six wound up third.

Noel Daley trains Chapter Geo J, a Chapter Seven colt bred by Lester Beechy, for owner Ken Jacobs. Chapter Geo J has five wins, five seconds and two thirds from 15 outings, has pocketed $228,194 and paid $3.66 to win.
