Ahundreddollarbill smashed the all-age track record for trotters at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday afternoon by winning the lone $112,000 New York Sire Stakes race for 3-year-old colts and geldings in 1:54 1/5. Driven by Andrew McCarthy, Ahundreddollarbill got around Dewey Arnold (Jason Bartlett) for the lead going to the 28 second opening quarter and was unchallenged through a 57 second half and a 1:25 3/5 three-quarters. Dewey Arnold tried to mount a bid in the final quarter, but it was to no avail, as Ahundreddollarbill was wrapped up while coming home in 28 3/5 to win by a length and three-quarters. Credit Con (Scott Zeron), Steel (Andy Miller), Seventier (Trond Smedshammer), and Seven Nation Army (Mark MacDonald) rounded out the order. The prior all-age (and 3-year-old gelding) track record for a trotter at Monticello Raceway was 1:55 2/5 set by Gural Hanover on July 15, 2014. This is the fifth track record Ahundreddollarbill has broken in New York State this year, as he had already set the marks for a sophomore gelding trotter at Vernon Downs, Yonkers Raceway (twice), and Saratoga Casino Hotel. ► Sign up for our FREE DRF Harness Digest Newsletter Tony Alagna trains Ahundreddollarbill, a gelded son of Chapter Seven, for owners Crawford Farms Racing and James Crawford.
