Monmouth: Teen Pauline's status will shape Sorority

Mike Farrell|Aug 31, 2012

OCEANPORT, N.J. -- Teen Pauline is the key to Sunday's $100,000 Sorority for 2-year-old fillies at Monmouth Park. A dazzling debut winner, Teen Pauline also is entered in Sunday’s Grade 1 Spinaway at Saratoga. She would be heavily favored in the Sorority, if trainer Steve Asmussen and Stonestreet Stables opt to run here. If Teen Pauline tackles the Spinaway instead, I’mclassyandsassy figures to inherit the role of Sorority favorite following a 6 1/4-length debut win here in late July for trainer Steve Hobby.

“I expected it, maybe not to win as big as she did,” Hobby said. “She was really training great. This seems like the natural thing to do. The timing was good.”

Trainer Kelly Breen, a two-time Sorority winner, sends out Mr Hall’s Opus, a homebred for George and Lori Hall. She won her debut in May in the mud at Belmont Park.

Pletcher has My Emma in the Sorority following an easy win in a $35,000 claimer at Saratoga.
