Monmouth: Briviesca gets up on inside

Briviesca found room on the hedge to slip through for a neck victory in the $56,815 Goldfinch Stakes for fillies and mares at Monmouth Park.
Trained by Bill Mott, the 4-year-old Briviesca ($9.20) scored her first win of the season in seven tries. She had competed in five straight graded stakes before dropping into the 1 1/8-mile Goldfinch.
* Coastal Strike ($6.60) took charge turning for home to post a 1 1/4-length win in the $55,000 Thomas J. Malley for 3-year-old fillies.
* Reaffirmed ($8.60) won the $60,115 Continental Mile for 2-year-olds by 2 1/4 lengths over First Class Guy.
