Monday carryover hits $156,000

ARCADIA, Calif. - Santa Anita's Monday program features a pick-six carryover of $156,069.

The nine-race program begins at 12:30 p.m. The pick six covers the fourth through nine races.

The sequence includes one stakes, the $70,000 Impressive Luck Handicap on the hillside turf course. Lucky J.H., unraced since winning the Sensational Star Handicap on the hillside turf course in April, is the 2-1 morning-line favorite.

Jockey Garrett Gomez, who suffered minor injuries in a spill on Saturday, is expected to ride. There were two early scratches as of Sunday. In the fifth race, a six-furlong race for $25,000 claimers, Trigranaut will not start. In the sixth race, a one-mile maiden race for 2-year-olds, Snowmaster has been withdrawn.

In the seventh race, an allowance race for fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs, Chantal Sutherland has the mount on Sekira. In the ninth race, Jose Valdivia Jr. has the mount on Alex's Wish.

The ninth race has the largest field. There are 14 starters in a six-furlong race for female $10,000 claimers.
