Mohegan Sun plans six contests

The Mohegan Sun Race Book in southeast Connecticut will stage six free handicapping contests over the next three months. Each one-day event, called the Mohegan Sun Knockdown, will be held on a Thursday afternoon, with the first Knockdown scheduled for Feb. 27. Subsequent contests will be on March 13, March 27, April 10, April 24, and May 29.

One free entry per person per contest will be available to all Mohegan Sun Race Book patrons, and each contest will offer a purse of $2,000. Entrants must pick a horse who finishes in the money in seven consecutive Gulfstream Park races to stay alive in the contest.

If more than one player survives elimination, the player who accumulates the highest combined mutuel earnings based on show payoffs will be the winner.
