Race 1
(9) ROSE RUN SPEEDSTER won three of these Grassroots races earlier this summer and he should like the return to this company; top call. (1) MAJESTIC MARVEL is in top form and he should provide a stiff challenge to the choice here. (8) BRED FOR GREATNESS has a race on August 1 that would put him in the picture if he can replicate it; consider at a price. (2) XANTHOS should be able to close for a slice.
Race 2
(3) JAYDENS PLACE is 0 for 20 now, but he has been beaten in his last two starts by two horses that would be very tough in this field. I will grudgingly give him the nod. (4) BETTOR JIN is an obvious contender on the barn change. (1) ABSOLUTE INTENT is sharp, but he is another that has had a few chances already; smaller share predicted. (6) JACK OF CLUBS gets McNair here which makes him worth a look.
Race 3
(9) LINDY ON TAP is well-related and goes for top connections. This is a good spot for her to break her maiden. (2) DRAFT YEAR had some late interest in his debut. He can be right there now with that experience in tow. (4) HENDERSON SEELSTER has hit his best stride, winning the Balanced Image most recently. He is a threat here. (1) SPEED N GLIDE faces easier coming off a good qualifier. He can't be tossed from Pick 5 consideration.
Race 4
(4) C MARY is the best in this division currently and she should have no problem in this weaker Grassroots split. (3) LOVES ANGEL gets McNair back which could wake her up here. (5) FADING SHADOW is a good one to use on the bottom of tri and super bets. (6) MACH THE CUT requalified okay; consider for exotics.
Race 5
(7) SASS comes off a solid win and he can double up here so long as he stays flat. (5) LIBERTARIAN is interesting here - having won 8 of 16 this year - coming off a decent qualifier. (4) APRIL ROSE should be prominent throughout. (2) LEAN HANOVER has a better chance moving inside; using.
Race 6
(3) VESUVIO BI had little chance at Hanover after starting last time from the worst post. He should rebound here. (9) WARAWEE SHIPSHAPE gets Phil Hudon driving for brother Pat for the 2nd week straight; beware. (5) MASSTER BLUE adds Lasix for trainer Allard. He could wake up big time. (1) SHORT TERM DEPOSIT can work out a good trip and take a share here.
Race 7
(1) SHEWEARSTHEPANTS should be very tough here starting from the inside; top call. (2) GOTTALOVEMYSHADOW provided the choice's cover last time and she stayed game to the wire. If there will be an upsetter here, it's her. (4) TREASURES PEARL adds Lasix, which could explain why she stopped so badly last time. (9) SNAPPY DRESSER can close late for a share.
Race 8
(3) ETRUSCAN HANOVER drops after trotting a 55 flat back 1/2 last week. Look for a more aggressive steer and a better result here. (4) HILL OF A COLT has been solid all year and he has the look of a main contender again. (1) FINISH LINE should provide an early pace presence and he can hang around for a slice. (8) RENEGADE MAGID should be passing horses in the back half and she can hit the ticket.
Race 9
(5) IM WITH HER finds a much better spot here and she should be prominent vs. these; top call. (3) HALLOWEEN HANOVER - a $125K Harrisburg buy - goes for connections that can send one ready; using. (1) MUSKOKA MOONLIGHT goes for hot connections and she should be heard from in this spot. (7) EASY THREE apparently had equipment issues last week that caused her break. She could go better here at a price.
Race 10
(1) YO YO MASS has been racing well in Grassroots company and he gets a slight nod leaving from the inside. (8) EURO GAP drops out of a Grand Circuit race and he should be much more prominent here. (9) TYCOON SEELSTER is worth a look at what might be a big price going for Moreau/Roy. (2) SANTINI figures to take a smaller share racing from close range.
Race 11
(6) NO PANIC raced well last time considering she was in no-man's land at the half. A better post should make all the difference here. (3) P L JASMINE was nailed late by a rival that rode the inside throughout last time. She should be a big threat coming off that unlucky loss. (7) COLLECTIVE WISDOM won two straight in this class and she is another that can take this contentious dash. (4) ACTION ROYAL GRIN isn't likely to beat the top three, but she could split them and boost the exacta and/or tri payoffs. (9) EVERY TIME is one that can finish on the edges and complete the High-5.
