Race 1
(7) WINNING LYRIC produced an impressive second 1/2 burst last week, including what is by far the fastest final 1/4 on the program page. He should be tough in here but is also sure to get bet down. (4) A DOOZY qualified well with Macdonald driving and he has already steered several longshot winners at this meet; consider. (2) KUIL DEVA raced decently in both starts and she has some upside. She should make the ticket again here. (6) BLAMEITONTHEWHISKY can contend here if he can stay flat and deliver an effort similar to his start two races back, but his 0 for 21 record doesn't exactly get the heart racing.
Race 2
(3) BEYOMBO and (5) IN SPADES both get to drop back into the maiden class due to the condition that neither has won in his past 10 starts. Both should improve sharply here; slight nod to the former who gets a hot driver. (7) ABSOLUTE INTENT has improved his final 1/4 time in every start. He will click soon. (9) HES GONE BADDER raced decently in his first start out of the Johnson barn. Further improvement here would not be a surprise.
Race 3
(3) OAK ISLAND was a sharp winner in his only Grassroots start this year. He should get a decent pace to stalk here; top call. (4) SOUTHWIND GENERAL rates highly in this field, but he will need to produce a quicker final 1/4 to get the job done. (7) LONDON SEELSTER has won two straight out of town in good time. He should be prominent here in his first Grassroots start. (1) THROWNOUTOFBETTER had no chance two starts back in a Grassroots race the way his trip went, but he can contend here racing from close range.
Race 4
(2) XTERNAL was a strong 2nd last time and kicked home quickly. Here, he has post advantage over the one that beat him in that race; slight nod. (10) MAROMA BEACH is obviously talented and may be good enough to overcome the outermost post; using. (7) SPORTS COWBOY raced well in his first start for Brealey. He is one to consider at what should be a good price here. (8) TOXICITY is capable of much better than what he showed last time and he does move in a couple of posts here. Consider him for Tri and Super bets.
Race 5
(5) BLONDE MAGIC - 1/2-sister to Seven and Seven, who earned $226,000 at two - looks like she might be a bargain seeing as she was bought for $22K at Lexington. She looks ready to roll here in her debut. (6) ALLOVERAGAIN - 1/2-sister to million dollar earner Dejarmbro - was bought for $50,000 at Harrisburg and she too looks primed for a good initial mile. (3) COLLATERAL BEAUTY drops out of OSS Gold company which should put her into contention in this field. (8) HENDERSON SEELSTER is worth a look as the only winner in the field.
Race 6
(6) MACH DEJA VU is capable of leaving and sitting a good trip here and he should be a square price; slight nod. (2) DREAM OF LUCK beat the choice two back after tracking him while he cut some quick splits. He's the one to beat here. (5) MASTER THE VIEW is racing great, but he can't seem to get there and he carries a 0 for 17 record into this race. He isn't impossible, but I'll try to beat him again - especially if he gets bet down again. (8) TIGERS WAY has a good late kick and we know Roy isn't afraid to send one from the outside. He should make the ticket here.
Race 7
(2) MOHEGAN BLUE CHIP should get a decent trip on or near the lead here and he looks as good as any in this head scratcher. (6) ONLYTHETUFFSURVIVE retains McNair who often moves horses way up the second time he drives them; using. (7) SUNNY BEACH DAY has the best late kick in this field and he should be passing horses in the stretch. (10) KINGSLEY B woke up with a sharp front end try at big odds last time, but he gets no favors here from the draw. He can take a smaller share.
Race 8
(1) LINDY THE KID requalified faster than his previous life's mark. He will be tough to beat here if his gait issues have been solved. (6) ALL IT TAKES paced a 54 2/5 back 1/2 in his season opener. That should set him up perfectly for this Grassroots try; using. (3) TREMENDOUS PLAY is 0 for 19, but he is racing very well and he'll get there soon. (2) SILVERINYOURPOCKET should show more here with a couple of tighteners under his belt.
Race 9
(4) SIMPLE KINDA MAN chased an insane early pace in sires stakes company and understandably stopped badly. He should fare much better vs. this group. (9) STREET BOY - full-brother to 24-time winner Ideal Cowboy - showed enough in the final 1/4s of his qualifiers to make him a contender here. (8) MISSION THREE is a full-brother to Good Friday Three, who was very good early in his two-year-old season; using. (2) HUDSON PHIL goes for strong connections and is worth a look based on the late speed he showed in his qualifiers.
Race 10
(10) WHERE ARE WE cut some big fractions in last week's win and McNair will no doubt be sending her again here. She can take another if she can clear before the 1/4. (9) ALWAYS REESE closed a big gap last week, but the choice was long gone. Maybe she leaves a bit better here. (8) MACH MAJORETTE got hung out to dry last week so she may opt to revert to a closing style here which could work well in this field. (3) DRY CREEK LIS closed for 2nd to the choice last week. She is in good form and she should be closing for another slice here. (6) ROCKIN SOCKEM is worth a look for the exotics going first off the claim here.
