SPOT PLAYS: 6 - 16 / $36.20

Race 1

(7) MAGIC PRESTO - an 'O Brien finalist last year - got a perfect tightener in at the Meadowlands where she was a good third to a promising colt. She should have no trouble here, but she may go off as low as 1 to 9. (5) ROYAL WITCH fired a quick final 1/4 over a very sloppy track in her season's debut. She is a good bet to complete a chalky exacta here. (8) SWEET OF MY HEART had a perfect in-the-money record last year racing mostly in stakes. She should make the ticket if she stays flat here. (4) HOLIDAY PROMISE is another that has compiled a good record in stakes that should be considered for vertical wagers.

Race 2

(4) PARADISE IMAGE motored up to win her season's debut. She looks as though she could be much faster now; slight nod in a tough race. (2) PERFECT MASS also impressed over a very sloppy track in her debut. She will need more speed here, but she could be up to it. (1) GRAVITATOR was one of the best in her division last year and she picks up Roy here; using. (5) ANIKADABRA was the queen of the Grassroots last year. She faces tougher here, but has shown the speed to compete.

Race 3

(8) SOIREE SEELSTER finished off last season with a flourish and she looks plenty ready to compete here in her sophomore debut; top call. (6) WINDY SPORT has had a couple of useful tighteners leading up to this first stake of the season. Expect Drury to be sending here. (3) FUTURE HEADLINES also had a tightener in which she closed well at the end of the mile. She has upset possibilities here. (4) DANCING SHADOWS K never misses a check, but she is likely to finish on the fringes here.

Race 4

(6) ARTISTIC MADISON just failed to hold on racing over an off track last week. She will get there one of these weeks; slight nod. (7) PRETTY HOT was driven hard from the 3/4 pole home to reach up at a big price, nailing the choice right on the line. A fourth straight score here wouldn't be a shock. (4) WIGGLE IT J has been razor sharp the past two starts. The waters get deeper here, but she isn't without a chance. (1) BET YA should take a share off a decent trip here.

Race 5

(10) CONTINUAL HANOVER couldn't advance against a leader that was pacing a monster effort last time. His price will go up here, but he is capable if he can work out a decent trip. (8) BLATANTLY BEST was an easy winner when debuting for Moreau last week. He will be tough again here despite the slight class rise. (6) DUC DORLEANS likes Mohawk and he is obviously capable in this class, but it's hard to predict how he will go after missing close to a month since his most recent qualifier. (5) AUDREYS DREAM fired a 27 2/5 kicker while drifting out last week, but he couldn't reach the winner. He isn't without a chance here, but he is trip-dependant.

Race 6

(3) BLAMEITONTHENIGHT was good enough to start in the final of the Breeders Crown last year and she served notice pacing a 26 3/5 kicker in her May 6th qualifier that she is ready to go; top call. (6) DUDESALADY has never missed the board and the Grassroots winner from 2016 had a good prep for this at Vernon Downs; using. (2) FADE is another that looks well-prepped off two conditioned races here. Look for improvement here. (5) TALBOT CHANEL was asked for little in her season debut and that's what she delivered. She is capable of better and she should be a big price here.

Race 7

(7) FOOL ME ONCE won with such powerful ease last time that it's hard to imagine him getting beat here; call to repeat. (4) REGAL SON races well in this class and he looks like the main threat, if there is one. (2) REDONKULOUS can spring on the scene late off an inside following trip here and take a slice. (1) MUSSELSFRMBRUSSELS rebounded with a nice win off the claim but these are tougher and a minor share is likely his ceiling here.

Race 8

(5) JINS SHARK is as sharp as they come right now and he is likely to go off as second choice here; slight nod. (4) SHAMBALLA is the king of this castle when he is in top form, but it may take him a start to get there and he is sure to be chalk here. (6) ELLIS PARK raced tough in his seasonal debut and he can't be dismissed here, although he did pile up many 2nds and 3rds last year racing in this class. (1) TRACEUR HANOVER figures to take a smaller share off a following trip.

Race 9

(4) SPORTS COLUMN - an 'O Brien Award finalist last year - opens his sophomore campaign vs. older, but this is a field he should beat if the intent is there. (6) SECRECY got buried behind a stopper in the third 1/4 last week which cost him all hope. He has a decent shot here at what should be a good price if he can get a better trip. (2) STREAKAVANA is another three-year-old that can compete here, but remember, many of these have much loftier goals than this $20K conditioned race. (5) P L JACKSON comes off a sharp win for a hot barn and his price should be good again. He is another decent alternative to the chalks here.

Race 10

(7) NIRVANA SEELSTER could double up now that he got untracked with a sharp win last week. He should be able to clear these before the 1/4; slight nod. (4) HIGHLANDBEACHYCOVE continues to race well every week. He's hard to leave off late Pick 4 tickets. (1) MACH CODE should be leaving hard and he will be dangerous here if he can land in the choice's pocket. (2) SHADOW PLACE figures to be a fringe player here stepping back up.

Race 11

(4) DIALAMARA blew a big lead last week, but he is capable in this class, especially if he can find a live helmet to follow. (7) VELOCITY DRIVEN made a big move then hung late last time. He is another that should get a different - and possibly better - trip here; using. (3) UF BETTORS HANOVER could get a decent trip here and threaten, however, he does tend to finish on the edges frequently. (2) DARCEE N is a perfect horse to use on the bottom of vertical bets in virtually every start. (1) RISE UP NOW should be an early pace presence leaving from the inside, but he has had trouble finishing his miles when forwardly-placed recently.
