Mohawk: Horses to watch from Sept. 7 - Sept. 12

Ken Walters|Sep 14, 2015

Monday, September 7

NOFEAR BLUE CHIP (2YO) put in a strong uncovered bid at 13-1 and earns look in next race or two.

TWIN B HONOUR (OntSS) put a good down the road effort in last losing to the odds-on favorite.

CHARMED LIFE (NW12000) closed a ton from too far back and the beaten favorite can atone.

CAMAES FELLOW (NW3000) was parked the mile in game effort. Beaten favorite can get it done with any kind of racing luck.

Tuesday, September 8

DERBY DYLAN (NW4000) was parked the mile uncovered, challenged the pace a long way and tired. Could score with any of the following: better post, some racing luck, a covered trip.

SPIRIT SQUAD (NW1/2-3YO) left, tucked at 75-1, came uncovered, chased without posing a serious threat but tired. Watch him land a good share in no time.

DOUBLE OLIVES (NW1/2-3YOF) put in a gallant down the road effort uncovered pressure at 20-1 and was a very good second best.

DANISH N COFFEE (NW1/2-3YOF) closed a ton from an impossible spot and bears watching.

Thursday, September 10

PERFECT ROAD (NW1/2-3YO) put in a solid uncovered effort in last but tired. A better trip might be all it takes.

STORMONT WIZARD (NW2) beaten favorite closed well from third over but it was too far to come.

SO RAVEN (NW1/2-3YOF) put in a good front stepping effort and could not last but will be tough if a just a few steps tighter in next.

SHOW BIZ HALL (NW2) was pafrked to the lead, set a pressed pace, held stubbornly. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

Friday, September 11

LADY SHADOW (PRFHCPFM) was parked to the lead, set a good clip and was best.

LIGHTS GO OUT (NW6000FM) beaten favorite broke before and after the start, trailed to the final turn, launched a rally and finished well but the race was long over.

SECOND SISTER (NW3) had the early pocket, got a shuffled when the lead changed, rallied gamely in side but was tiring and outkicked by the two favorites.

MARLEE B (NW14000FM) was out a long time, raced second over and closed gamely.

ABBIJADE HANOVER (NW2FM) set the pace under pressure throughout and added to her margin in the lane.

Saturday, September 12

VEGAS ROCKS (NW2) odds-on favorite crushed both the competition and the variant with strong down the road victory in last and should be looking forward to his next adventure.

CHAMPAGNE PHIL (NW13000) beaten favorite came up a head short on the wire to the pocketsitting second favorite and should be hoping for a rematch.

HES A SENSATION (NW13000) closed with a big very wide :26 2/5 stretch rally in last but had much too far to come.

HERE COMES WILLIAM (NW7500) made a strong uncovered bid at 23-1 challenging the pacesetting favorite. Wored him down but was outfinshed by the fresh pocket-sitting winner.
