Mohawk: Horses to watch from Sept. 15 - Sept. 20

Ken Walters|Sep 22, 2016

Thursday, September 15

PRETTY ANGEL EYES (NW1/2-3YOF) left, tucked, pulled, challenged uncovered from the half to the wire and gamed out second.

LATE SHIFT (OntSS) tucked early, got a covered second over trip at 44-1, rallied gamely to take the lead but was nailed by the late speed of the winner.

TREASURES PEARL (OntSS) left, tucked, got badly shuffled, rallied willingly but too late.

P L KARIS (OntSS) left to the top, yielded, got shuffled, closed well but it was too late.

Friday, September 16

KISS ME OR NOT (NW6000FM) was parked the mile uncovered, challenged a long way before tiring and should not be ignored.

P L HURRICANE (NW6000FM) beaten favorite broke before the start, settled at the rear, ralllied the last quarter, came very wide, got close but flattened and broke. Can atone with flat trip.

SILVERADO (NW2) put in a good down the road effort and was nailed late on a night when speed was not holding.

MISS BABE DELIGHT (NW3FM) finished full of pace from an impossible spot at 133-1.

Saturday, September 17

PRINCE CLYDE (NW8000) put in an impressive down the road winning race in most recent and can repeat.

AMITYVILLE LINDY (NW7000) trotter wide the field in last holding off the uncovered bid of the favorite.

TERROR HALL (NW3) finished wide and fast last time around but had too far to come.

REEL (NW3) stablemate of Terror Hall also finished full of pace in same race and had even further to come.

Monday, September 19

ARCHANGEL THREE (NW2) was used hard to the lead, set a good clip, weakened late and proved second best.

STIMULUS SPENDING (CLM8000) finished wide and full of pace from an impossible spot at 35-1 in most recent.

VERY CLASSY (NW2) yielded, sat pocket, took aim in the final turn, got away by a length but was outkicked by the favorite.

ROCKABELLA (NW3000) finished gamely between horses in last and should not be overlooked.

Tuesday, September 20

CONNIE MACH (NW1/2-3YOF) wired the field on a rough night for speed and held confidently leaving the impression should do it again.

SPORTS LIGHTNING (NW3500) put in a solid front stepping effort in last but was nailed in the last steps by the late closing favorite.

MAKERS MASS (NW2) finished full of trot from the back of the pack in most recent and earns a look in next.

ITSALLABOUTTHEBASS (NW2FM) closed well inside and will be along in time soon.
