Mohawk: Horses to watch from Oct. 5 - Oct. 10

Ken Walters|Oct 11, 2017

Thursday, October 5

SKY GUY (CLMHCP10/12000) wired the field in handy fashion and can take another.

MUSCLE MUSEUM (NW1) was inside a bunch of pylons in the early going, came uncovered once settled, challenged, wore down the leader and held off a late closing foe only to be taken down for the early infractions.

MYSTICAL WONDER (CLMHCP8/10000FM) tipped in the final turn and closed determinedly but too far to come.

IM WITH HER (2YOF) brushed to the lead passing the half and never looked back in convincing score.

Friday, October 6

CAYO LOCO (NW3000FM) came uncovered, challenged the pacesetting favorite at 14-1 and dug in gamely only to be nipped by the second over tripped-out second choice.

HILL OF A COLT (NW6) sat in the pocket with serious traffic problems. Beaten favorite can atone in quick order.

SHEZAREALDEAL (NW10000FM) made a strong uncovered bid, took the lead in the lane and held tenaciously but could not hold off the late pace of the well-bet second-over winner.

MS MAC N CHEESE (NW6300FM) rushed to the top, yielded, sat pocket to the third panel, pulled, challenged and proved best pulling away a bid at the end.

Saturday, October 7

RED JOHN (NW4) left, tucked, pulled uncovered to the third panel at nearly 10-1, challenged, dug in gamely and proved second best to the tripped-out second over favorite.

PRESCOTTS HOPE (NW14000) took the top, yielded, retook and proved much the best.

VELOCITY DRIVEN (NW6000) rallied strong and wide the last three-eighths and will notch a win soon.

IL SOGNO DREAM (NW13000) yielded, retook and crushed them.

Monday, October 9

COURTNEY HANOVER (2YO) pulled to the half, brushed to lead but proved second best to the late moving favorite.

CHOCOLATE SWIRL (2YO) trailed to the lane, came very wide but was too late at 45-1.

FALSE ADVERTISING (NW2500) sat near the rear, raced 4th over, rallied well but flattened out in the late stages. Do not ignore.

DEUCE DEUUCE DEUCE (CLMHCP12/15000) roared home to win going away and should take another.

Tuesday, October 10

LIGHT FOOT RD (CLM8000) closed gamely from second over but was outkicked by the odds-on favorite.

TOTALLY RIPPED (NW4000) left, tucked, angled out in the lane, set down and closead strongest but just missed.

YOU SHOULD BE THERE (NW1/2-3YOF) left, tucked the early pocket, sat antsy for a few ticks, had to pull and challenged all the home but was outfinished. Beaten favorite should get a better trip in next.

MISS MACHQUEEN (NW3000FM) stormed home from third over to win going away and could take another.
